2024-10-16net: introduce alternative implementation as net/lwip/Jerome Forissier
Prepare the introduction of the lwIP (lightweight IP) TCP/IP stack by adding a new net/lwip/ directory and the NET_LWIP symbol. Network support is either NO_NET, NET (legacy stack) or NET_LWIP. Subsequent commits will introduce the lwIP code, re-work the NETDEVICE integration and port some of the NET commands and features to lwIP. SPL_NET cannot be enabled when NET_LWIP=y. SPL_NET pulls some symbols that are part of NET (such as arp_init(), arp_timeout_check(), arp_receive(), net_arp_wait_packet_ip()). lwIP support in SPL may be added later. Similarly, DFU_TFTP and FASTBOOT are not compatible with NET_LWIP because of dependencies on net_loop(), tftp_timeout_ms, tftp_timeout_count_max and other NET things. Let's add a dependency on !NET_LWIP for now. SANDBOX can select NET_LWIP but doing so will currently disable the eth dm tests as well as the wget tests which have strong dependencies on the NET code. Other adjustments to Kconfig files are made to fix "unmet direct dependencies detected" for USB_FUNCTION_SDP and CMD_FASTBOOT when the default networking stack is set to NET_LWIP ("default NET_LWIP" instead of "default NET" in Kconfig). The networking stack is now a choice between NO_NET, NET and NET_LWIP. Therefore '# CONFIG_NET is not set' should be 'CONFIG_NO_NET=y'. Adjust the defconfigs accordingly. 2024-08-23spl: mmc: Try to clean up raw-mode optionsSimon Glass
Make the raw-mode options depend on SPL_SYS_MMCSD_RAW_MODE in a more direct way. This makes it easier to understand the options with 'make menuconfig'. There are three different ways of specifying the offset: - sector offset - partition number - partition type So make these a choice, so it is more obvious what is going on. Update existing boards to enable SPL_SYS_MMCSD_RAW_MODE where needed. 2024-08-06am33xx: Use regular spl_board_init instead of am33xx_spl_board_initPaul Kocialkowski
The am33xx_spl_board_init function was introduced as a way to add board-specific SPL init for AM33xx devices since the spl_board_init function was already used for SoC-specific init. Now that the SoC-specific SPL init was moved to spl_soc_init, we can use spl_board_init for this purpose and get rid of am33xx_spl_board_init. - Make all users of CUSTOM_SYS_INIT_SP_ADDR reference SYS_INIT_SP_ADDR - Introduce HAS_CUSTOM_SYS_INIT_SP_ADDR to allow for setting the stack pointer directly, otherwise we use the common calculation. - On some platforms that were using the standard calculation but did not set CONFIG_SYS_INIT_RAM_SIZE / CONFIG_SYS_INIT_RAM_ADDR, set them. - On a small number of platforms that were not subtracting GENERATED_GBL_DATA_SIZE do so now via the standard calculation. - CONFIG_SYS_INIT_SP_OFFSET is now widely unused, so remove it from most board config header files. 2019-10-08spl: Allow tiny printf() to be controlled in SPL and TPLSimon Glass
At present there is only one control for this and it is used for both SPL and TPL. But SPL might have a lot more space than TPL so the extra cost of a full printf() might be acceptable. Split the option into two, providing separate SPL and TPL controls. The TPL setting defaults to the same as SPL. 2019-07-09at91, omap2plus: configs: migrate CONFIG_ENV_ to defconfigsMarkus Klotzbuecher
Enable the extended ENV options for AT91 and OMAP2PLUS in order to be able to use CONFIG_ENV_UBI_* on these architectures. As this change also makes the configs ENV_SIZE, ENV_SECT_SIZE, ENV_OFFSET visible to AT91 and OMAP2PLUS, migrate users of these to KConfig. This migration was run using an extended moveconfig.py which evaluates expressions such as "(512 << 10)". See patch ("moveconfig: expand simple expressions"). All modified boards were built with SOURCE_DATE_EPOCH=0 before and after the change and successfully confirmed that the identical binary is generated (the only exception was igep00x0, which does not define CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_UBI in the original board header. 2018-12-07arm: am335x-pdu001: Enable CONFIG_BLK and CONFIG_DM_MMCFelix Brack
This patch enables CONFIG_BLK as well as CONFIG_DM_MMC for the PDU001 board. It depends on Patrice Chotard's patch 'power: regulator: denied disable on always-on regulator' which prevents power cycling the vmmc supply. Without this patch the board will not boot as vmmc is unfortunately used by other board components, not just eMMC and micro SD card. Furthermore my patch 'dts: am335x-pdu001: Fix polarity of card detection input' is required to boot from external micro SD card. This converts the following to Kconfig: CONFIG_SPI This partly involves updating code that assumes that CONFIG_SPI implies things that are specific to the MPC8xx SPI driver. For now, just update the CONFIG tests. This also involves reworking the default for CONFIG_SYS_DEF_EEPROM_ADDR so that we don't set it when we cannot make a reasonable default, as it does not cause any compile failures. This converts the following to Kconfig: CONFIG_CONS_INDEX We have existing entries for this option in a number of places, with different guards on them. They're also sometimes used for things not directly inside of the serial driver. First, introduce a new symbol to guard the use of CONFIG_CONS_INDEX, so that in the case where we don't need this for the serial driver, but for some other use, we can still do it. Next, consolidate all of these into the single entry in drivers/serial/Kconfig. Finally, introduce CONS_INDEX_[023456] so that we can imply a correct value here to make the defconfig side of this smaller.
