2026-01-22mfd: tps65219: Implement LOCK register handling for TPS65214Kory Maincent (TI.com)
The TPS65214 PMIC variant has a LOCK_REG register that prevents writes to nearly all registers when locked. Unlock the registers at probe time and leave them unlocked permanently. 'struct regmap_irq_sub_irq_map' and 'struct tps65219_chip_data' are not modified in this driver. Constifying these structures moves some data to a read-only section, so increases overall security. 2025-07-24mfd: tps65219: Update TPS65214 MFD cell's GPIO compatible stringShree Ramamoorthy
This patch reflects the change made to move TPS65215 from 1 GPO and 1 GPIO to 2 GPOs and 1 GPIO. TPS65215 and TPS65219 both have 2 GPOs and 1 GPIO. TPS65214 has 1 GPO and 1 GPIO. 2025-03-14mfd: tps65219: Remove TPS65219_REG_TI_DEV_ID checkShree Ramamoorthy
The chipid macro/variable and regmap_read function call is not needed because the TPS65219_REG_TI_DEV_ID register value is not a consistent value across TPS65219 PMIC config versions. Reading from the DEV_ID register without a consistent value to compare it to isn't useful. There isn't a way to verify the match data ID is the same ID read from the DEV_ID device register. 0xF0 isn't a DEV_ID value consistent across TPS65219 NVM configurations. For TPS65215, there is a consistent value in bits 5-0 of the DEV_ID register. However, there are other error checks in place within probe() that apply to both PMICs rather than keeping this isolated check for one PMIC. After commit b8a1a4cd5a98 ("i2c: Provide a temporary .probe_new() call-back type"), all drivers being converted to .probe_new() and then 03c835f498b5 ("i2c: Switch .probe() to not take an id parameter") convert back to (the new) .probe() to be able to eventually drop .probe_new() from struct i2c_driver. The TPS65219 is a power management IC PMIC designed to supply a wide range of SoCs in both portable and stationary applications. Any SoC can control TPS65219 over a standard I2C interface. It contains the following components: - Regulators. - Over Temperature warning and Shut down. - GPIOs - Multi Function Pins (MFP) - power-button This patch adds support for tps65219 PMIC.
